Accessibility

The Museum is in compliance with all laws regarding accessibility for the disabled.

The parking lot has ample parking spaces for disabled persons. A Museum entrance ramp is provided to the right of the main entrance stairway. Access between the two gallery floors is provided by elevator.

In addition to regulatory compliance, a limited number of wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Coat Check desk located on the entry level.

The Norton Simon Museum Theater is equipped with two wheelchair pads, one on each side of the theater. There are also special seats, which allow persons to slide in by lifting an armrest. For well-attended events, wheelchairs are accommodated on the lower level behind the last row of seats. Headphones are available for the hearing impaired.

Admission fees are waived for legally blind persons.

Dogs specially trained to assist disabled persons are allowed into the Museum.
