A puff of smoke rises above. The foreshortened perspective emphasizes the outward movement of his palm and the cigar. In addition to the suggestive overtones present in this image, the plume of smoke above has been likened to a nuclear mushroom cloud. Images of atomic explosions appeared on television and in news journals during the 1960s. |
