Images of Harihara in South and Southeast Asian art depict the gods joined along a vertical axis, with Vishnu on the left and Shiva on the right. Harihara was a popular deity among Khmer Hindu kings during the 7th century and late 8th century because of his awesome power, derived from the combined forces of Vishnu and Shiva.
