His left hand holds the stalk of a lotus, whose blossom appears at his shoulder. The palm of his right hand rests on his knee in the gesture of charity. Avalokiteshvara can be identified by the small seated figure of Amitabha, his parental Buddha, who is depicted on his crown. |
