Artist Michael Horowitz leads this class emphasizing figure drawing. Using the Museum’s collections and figure models as inspiration, this class explores the figure’s basic construction and anatomy as well as its use as a means of self-expression.

Using simple shapes and measuring the proportions of the body, students are introduced to the basic layout of the figure by drawing from examples in the Museum’s Asian galleries. This class emphasizes gesture drawing and analyzing the silhouette of a figure.


Meets in Entrance Gallery | All levels of experience are welcome. Each class is $20 ($16 for members), and space is limited to 20 participants.
