A Challenge for Creative Expression: Textured Transformation

Date : Friday, February 10, 2012
Time : 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Teacher : Jose Antonio Aguirre
Type : Adult Drawing Class

The Norton Simon Museum is known for its collection of works by many of the world’s greatest artists. Join artist José Antonio Aguirre as he investigates how artists in the Museum’s collections have expressed their creative visions and changed the course of art history, from ancient to modern times. Participants are encouraged to use a variety of drawing techniques to create original reinterpretations of selected works of art in the galleries.

Textured Transformations
The visual narrative that is created between space, detail and color determines the relationship between the viewer and the work of art. Looking at 19th-century European art, particularly Impressionism, participants create works using pattern and texture.

All levels of experience are welcome. Each class is $20 ($16 for members), and space is limited to 18 participants. All materials and admission to the galleries on the day of class are included. Online registration is required.
