Join a Museum educator on select Sunday afternoons for a dynamic discussion of art. This spring’s Afternoon Salons examine the phenomenon of light as portrayed by medieval, Baroque and Impressionist artists. The program is free with admission and limited to 20 participants. Please sign up at the Information Desk no later than 15 minutes prior to each session.
To medieval artists, depicting the realm of heaven was more important than portraying the challenges of daily life. The work of early Italian masters Paolo Veneziano, Giovanni di Paolo and Guariento di Arpo presents an opportunity to reflect on the spiritual and celestial nature of early Christian art.
