Masters of Light and Drama from the 17th Century

Join a Museum educator on select Sunday afternoons for a dynamic discussion of art. This spring’s Afternoon Salons examine the phenomenon of light as portrayed by medieval, Baroque and Impressionist artists. The program is free with admission and limited to 20 participants. Please sign up at the Information Desk no later than 15 minutes prior to each session.

Drama was a hallmark of the Baroque era, whether it was the dramatic lighting of Rembrandt or the striking biblical depictions by Rubens and Guercino. Discuss the range of effects evoked by 17th-century masters.
