Celebrate the beauty of nature with artist Jamie Sweetman as she leads a series of four drawing classes in the galleries and garden. Students practice essential drawing techniques aimed at better understanding natural forms.

In this first session, discover how still-life painters like Frans Snyders captured the ephemeral beauty of nature in their work. Sketching directly from the Norton Simon’s collections, participants practice using simple shapes to understand how to draw a variety of fruits and vegetables.
