Inspired by works in the Museum’s South Asian collection, Moving the Divine explores the variety of ways in which India’s Odissi dance tradition engages with ideas and embodiments of the divine. A neo-classical form with deep devotional roots, this virtuosic performance by award-winning dancer Rahul Acharya explores a tradition in which sculpture can come to life, epics reside in a single body, and the Supreme is a lover who can be petitioned with tears.
