In ancient times, the story of the Buddha was carved onto stone pillars and read much like a graphic novel, but in three dimensions. Railing Pillar: The Great Departure of Siddhartha and Column from a Buddhist Stupa both depict stories of the Buddha’s life, but the deity seems to be missing from these scenes. Find out why, and create your own story on small boxes using markers and collage. Arrange and rearrange your stories by stacking them.
