Drawing Breakthroughs at the Norton Simon: Subject Overwhelm

Drawing Breakthroughs at the Norton Simon: Subject Overwhelm
DATE:
TIME:
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Teacher:
Richard E. Scott

Join artist and author Richard E. Scott in an exploration of the collections in this six-part drawing series. Each session focuses on common drawing problems and provides specific solutions to overcome these challenges. Working in pencil, students learn how to improve their skill, gain confidence and enrich their museum-going experience.

In the final session, students learn how artists from the 17th to the 19th centuries simplified subject matter. Students learn to apply that creative process to their own artworks by drawing works from throughout the Museum’s collections.
