DATE:
TIME:
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
SPEAKER:
Melissa Manfull

Examine composition and perspective in works from the Renaissance to the modern era, and explore how artists create the illusion of space in their work with artist Melissa Manfull. Consider how space is reinterpreted to create dramatic narratives and moody environments and discover how the viewer’s proximity to an artwork changes their perception of space within a piece.

Explore the multiple viewpoints in the 16th-century tapestry Arrival of Paris and Helen at the Court of Priam, King of Troy and discover alternatives to linear perspective. Then create nonlinear architectural drawings of the Museum’s interiors.
