Peaceful Voyage III
1933
Lyonel Feininger (American, 1871-1956)
Not on View

Feininger wrote along the lower edge: "To his Little Friend Galka Emmy, from Papileo, zur Erinnerung an die Zeit, Juni, 1936" [In memory of the time, June 1936]. The watercolor was probably given to Galka Scheyer by the artist in remembrance of his visit to her in Hollywood in June 1936 while en route to Mills College, Oakland.
