DATE:
TIME:
11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Teacher:
Linda Lyke

Join Linda Lyke, professor of art at Occidental College, for a workshop in styrene etching, a relatively new process that allows printmakers to work with a nontoxic form of etching. Students use photographs, found images and their own drawings to develop etchings. They then ink and print plates to produce a series of sequential stages similar to those found in States of Mind: Picasso Lithographs 1945–1960. Each student should bring a drawing, photo or found image to use in the imaging of a plate.

The program begins with a tour of States of Mind at the Museum, and then students drive to Occidental College to use the printmaking lab. Directions to the lab are provided upon registration.
