Artist Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca leads students in a multimedia workshop exploring the still-life paintings of Henri Fantin-Latour, Odilon Redon, Vincent van Gogh and Juan Gris. The art-making project follows the prompt: how does a still life invoke meaning? Students learn techniques in sketching, painting and photography (using smartphones or cameras), and each student creates three artworks: a pencil sketch, a multimedia painting and a photograph.

Students are encouraged to bring a smartphone or camera; there will also be a camera available for use during the workshop. Additional materials are provided.
