The Museum has appointed Emily M. Talbot as its new Chief Curator, responsible for the care, interpretation and display of the Norton Simon art collections.
Raphael 2020: A Spotlight on Madonna and Child with Book

This winter and spring, the Museum joins institutions around the world in observing the 500th anniversary of the Raphael’s death with a special display and a series of programs focused on the artist’s Madonna and Child with Book, the only painting by Raphael in a public collection in the Western U.S.
Jean Cocteau's Orphic Trilogy Screens this February

The Museum presents a film series featuring Jean Cocteau's celebrated Orphic Trilogy—The Blood of a Poet from 1930, Orpheus from 1950 and Testament of Orpheus from 1959.

Telling Her Story Women Directors Film Series

This March, the Museum screens three films by celebrated women directors—A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014) by Ana Lily Amirpour, Daughters of the Dust (1991) by Julie Dash, and My Brilliant Career (1979) by Gillian Armstrong.
