Description

These four gold repoussé plaques depict various Buddhist and animist deities. Objects such as these would have been deposited as offerings in religious monuments such as stupas. The center plaque features a standing figure, perhaps a lunar deity. The leaping hare in the halo is a pan-Asian reference to the moon.
