"Music is a Higher Revelation than Philosophy" - Beethoven

On rare occasions, Tamarind Lithography Workshop printed work that it did not publish. The current lithograph, executed by Mexican artist José Luis Cuevas, an artist-fellow in 1966 (see vitrine), was commissioned to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Los Angeles Music Festival. Instead of the Tamarind standard of 20 artist impressions, 10 were pulled for the artist and 125 were made for the Orchestral Society. Nine impressions were printed for Tamarind, and the print was considered part of the Tamarind catalogue. Each work was sold for $200 to contribute to the costs of the Orchestral Society.
