Intaglio Prints by Dean Meeker

Intaglio Prints featured experimental prints produced by artist Dean Meeker (1920–2022). The 17 prints displayed were each created using a press specially designed by Meeker in collaboration with John McFee, an engineer. The machine achieved 11,000 pounds of pressure per square inch, compared to the standard 1,000 pounds. In addition, several of the plates were produced with Polymar and an aluminum base, allowing for greater technical sensitivity and a “great variety of surface development,” according to the artist.
