The Hindu god Vishnu is known as the preserver and protector of the universe. Here, he stands with his tall crown and his front left hand resting against his thigh in a gesture known as katyavilamvita, which signifies his easing of sorrow and suffering.

Sit still, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and bring awareness to the sorrow and suffering present in the world.

Take a moment of refuge in your breath.

Breathe in peace.
Exhale and release suffering.

Breathe in compassion.
Release anger.

Breathe in strength.
Release fear.

Breathe in joy.
Release sorrow.

Breathe in love.
Release pain.

Breathe in love.
Radiate love.
